First, I have to say that the cover *may* have influenced my decision to purchase this book (so shoot me—I like an elegant book). The advice is pretty direct and to the point, although I bought the book primarily for the tests since I'm a tutor. Whoever wrote the footnotes is clearly insane, but in a good way. The tests are at least as good as what I've seen in other books, and my kids didn't have any complaints other than that there are some pretty tricky questions, but to be fair, the book mentions this (and it's good for practice anyway).I'd buy another book from these people, but this is the only one I've been able to find.

Great resource for students and teachers of the SAT math subject tests.
Was able to give my students four full-length practice tests that closely mimicked the college board tests. They became more comfortable the exam and were able to target their studies towards their weakest areas. All improved.
Exactly what the doctored ordered!
The questions are well written and more accurate to the real test than what I've seen in other commercial test prep books. The writers don't pull any punches, so if you can do well on these tests, you're in good shape.
The strategy/advice sections are also helpful, but (obviously) you have to practice using the strategies on the tests or else they won't really do you any good.
I realize this is maybe a weird thing to mention, but the texture of the cover is really nice - smooth and almost velvety. Not really relevant to the subject test, I know, but it caught my attention.
As the director of a tutoring & test prep company, I can attest that we are always looking for tests that really give students the feel of the SAT Math Level 2. Most on the market are either too easy, WAY too hard, or simply have too much "stuff" to deal with. The Barebones Guide has four tests - plain and simple. And, given my fifteen+ years of experience tutoring this particular test, I can say they are very close in kind and difficulty to the real tests. A tiny bit harder, but, then, they admit that in the book. And you'd rather have dainty bit harder than anything easier.
It's exactly what you want when you're preparing for the SAT Math Level 2.
